Irvington and the Northern Neck area have several wineries and vineyards. The Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail is a great way to explore the region and to become familiar with the wines of the region. The Dog and Oyster Vineyard in Irvington is a short short distance from the Blue House and a perfect place to start! Goodluck Cellars is in nearby Kilmarnock and they have a wonderful tasting room with a lovely setting. Triple V Farms and Jacey Vineyards are less than 20 minutes away!

There are two great golf courses nearby – The Golden Eagle and the King Carter Golf Club.

Kayaking, canoeing and hiking are local favorites. Windswept Experience and Supply Co. in Irvington rents paddle boards and bicycles. Belle Isle State Park has kayaks and canoes for rent and is a great place to enjoy nature. There are also several natural beaches nearby.
